Mac OS X is an operating system which was built for the Macintosh computers made by Apple started on 1984. It is a unique operating system that only works on Apple computer, it doesn’t work with other devices as an operating system. Mac OS available as a desktop operating system and also as a server operating system. Mac OS is a GUI based operating system and it is comfortable for use as a personal computer for any people.

In 2001 Mac OS named as Mac OS X and came to the market with Number of Mac OS X versions until 2015. Before that OS X version called as classic Mac OS X versions. The classic Mac OS X version system software 1 released 1984 with the menu bar and the finder tool. Then the Apple released the Macintosh Software version 02, 03 and 04 between the years 1985 – 1987. Those time period the Apple introduced the GUI (Graphical User Interface) based operating system for the Macintosh computers instead of CLI (Command Line Interface) operating system. Especially, the screenshot application introduced to the Mac OS in those system software versions.

After that the system software 5 released in 1987 with the finder tool with multitasking ability. In 1988 the system software version 6 was released with 1.44 MB hard drive. With system shortcuts the system software version 7 released in 1991. Then the Mac OS 8 launched in 1997 with the platinum GUI feature and skins desktop themes. After the Mac OS 8, in 1999 the Mac OS 9 was released and it includes the AirPort networking, new search engine, better memory management, good file encryption and the connectivity functions.

Then apple introduces the Mac OS X versions to the market in 2001. Also known as the Mac OS 10. The Mac OS 10 or the Mac OS X came with thousands of application with UNIX based operating system and with the highly developed Graphical User Interface.
